Return of the Community

The exploit is almost a month behind us, though it feels like years ago. The moonbois are floating off somewhere in the lambosphere and our Pancake Bunny Discord community is finally coming back down to crypto earth.

Day 1, #general thread.

“Wen burn?”

“No one knows.”

“Yeah but wen burn tho?”

“A burn wouldn’t do much tho.”

“No, it does. Wen burn?”

“Sigh.”

Day 7, #general thread.

“1 min candle over 365 ays for 100 timelines = 52.5 M datapoints. so literally negligible dataload. you need to worry about the ram / dataload etc only if you are dealing with secondly candles. 52.5 datapoints at 64bit floating operation = 4gb data..”

“That’s where paging with a great raid card comes in to play 12gb/s speed, if you manage small files, an Areca Raid card is the best to instant file access.”

Quite the tonal shift!

Compensation Comes In All Shapes and Sizes

June 17th was a good day. The rest…not so good. Luckily the Pancake Bunny team has some new ideas for how to increase compensation going forward as they laid out in their big news drop on the 18th.

Worth noting here is that the implementation of FRE (Floating Rate of Emission) is the cause of much lower compensations on the 19th and 20th — before FRE we were getting 15% of the 30% performance fees and now we get 15% of the 6% bunny that’s being minted, or at least that’s how we understand it.

As pointed out at the end of their article, the team is “planning to refactor the compensation of pBUNNY holders to meet our original objectives as closely as possible.” Looking forward to see what’s coming up!

And by the way, the huge compensation on the 17th came from some sizable bunny-whales claiming on the pools. Our discord community tracked a few of these wallets, but there’s not much to say about them except they have a lot of CAKE and BUNNY, like a lot a lot. If anyone is interested in helping us identify / track bunny-whales, let us know in Discord!

FUD Wars: A New Hopium

June 18th, hours before PCB’s big medium post, a new wave of unexpected FUD hit Pancake Bunny’s telegram, which also overflowed a bit into our Discord server. From what we could tell, nothing had changed from the previous day: the project’s fundamentals were the same and things were moving along normally — so where did this wave of FUD come from?

So we put on our tinfoil hats and got to speculating!

Here are the central theories:

  1. A group of people (bunny-whales?) wanted to bring the price of BUNNY down momentarily so they could buy more for cheap — I believe it was down to $14 at one point.
  2. Other competitor clone aggregators hired a gang of FUDsters to perform a coordinated attack — evidence for this: a lot of the FUD was accompanied by a shill of one of these other protocols.
  3. Impatience. A lot of us — myself included — are in the defi space because we don’t want to patiently wait for our glory and riches. The price of BUNNY and the amount of compensation has been pretty stagnant over the last week or so. Maybe this FUD attack was just the impatience boiling over?

Any other theories? I guess these aren’t that crazy — next time we’ll try to be more creative in our Discord chats.

In the end, by the way, the announcement from the PCB effectively ended the FUD Wars…for now…

Bunny Maximizer Pool

The new vault opened up and brought some excitement to the community. Users were chatting about the best strategies — 50% here and 50% there? — but then mostly they were troubleshooting the vault’s logistics for new and old-holders alike.

FAQ: The Bunny Maximizer has a UI issue which is showing lower rewards (-30% or so), which will be fixed soon, if not already. Check your amounts on a wallet dashboard to see the real profits earned thus far.

FAQ: The vault uses WBNB profits to automatically buy BUNNY and put it back into your deposit. This auto-compounding function is done every 2 hours, so it may take a few minutes/hours to display any profits.

Proposals of the Week

Nothing really substantial except for fact that we are getting the PolyBunny that a few of our Discord users had requested. So basically, we are taking credit for PolyBunny — unless it goes poorly for some reason. In that case, it’s the telegram server’s fault.

Week 2 of the Degen Delight Series

The market continues to be bear-ish, so our Crypto Winter Chef has a new entry this week for us Budget Bunny folks. Cost: 1/10 Bunny for a single portion.
